Wincanton adds Goodyear Dunlop to client portfolio May 18, 2006
Multi-client warehousing and supply chain solutions provider Wincanton is set to operate a newly-built central warehouse in the Slovak town of Senec for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres.
Wincanton will manage the distribution of tires from the new warehouse throughout Slovakia, to the Czech Republic and to Hungary. The five year contract has been signed between Wincanton, Goodyear Dunlop Tyres Czech, Goodyear Dunlop Tyres Slovakia, and Goodyear Dunlop Tyres Hungary.
“This project is something more than the standard provision of logistics services. It involves the reorganization and consolidation of our activities in Slovakia and the transfer of our center from Bratislava to Senec,” said Lukas Rek, managing director of Wincanton in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The central warehouse in Senec has storage space of 6000 square meters and is equipped with the latest information and communication technology. Wincanton said the facility will provide new job opportunities for a “significant” number of people from the surrounding areas.
